Afternoon ride at South Mountain

Having time during the week to escape for a couple hours has been one of the nicest parts about the post-college lifestyle. This morning I had a great meeting with the Arizona Small Business Association, went into the studio for a few hours of video editing, then still had time to hit South Mountain for a quick ride with friends and even made it to salsa class over at ASU by 6:45p. Such a fun, busy day! Here’s a couple GoPro clips from our ride today.

Auction Week (Russo and Steele and Barrett Jackson)

I just had a fun week working with Brad White (Square Pictures) and crew out at the Russo and Steele auto auction. I was managing the footage offload from our four Panasonic HPX2000s. We shot over four terabytes of footage over the four days (8TB backed up) and I used some of the down time to take a couple cool GoPro timelapses, which I’ll post here soon. On Thursday, my “day off”, I went over and shot at Barret Jackson for Discount Tire for a couple of hours on Keith’s Canon 5D. For quick interviews, you can’t beat the 5D, but I’m still not in love with DSLRs for my live event run-and-gun style of shooting. Nevertheless it was fun and some of the cars were just incredible (as to be expected). When I find out what network and time our reality segment from Russo and Steele is going to air, I will make another post or update this one.

I’ve got some editing to wind down January and I’m gearing up for a busy February with a new corporate client. Should be fun though.

Headed to the Gymkhana GRID Invitational Dec. 4th

We will be heading out to Irwindale Speedway in California December 4th for the Gymkhana GRID Invitational with Discount Tire! Once again, I will primarily be in charge of getting POV shots with our tried and true GoPro HD cameras. My goal is to come up with some new and creative angles out on the course and on/in car that maybe haven’t been tried yet. Pretty stoked!
