Give Thanks. Walk.

November 23, 2009

2009 has been a great year for us so far. While the economy is still in the pits, it has been very inspiring to see the tremendous amount of support out there for our industries and local businesses. Keep it going! As the holiday season approaches, and wakeboarding season in Arizona is winding down, I wanted to do something fun and different to give back in our own way. So this past weekend I went and took some photos for the Phoenix 5k “Give Thanks. Walk” for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. If you haven’t heard about St. Jude,  it’s located in Memphis, TN and offers its advanced medical services to deserving families completely free of charge (including extra living and travel expenses). One patient, Nitalia Conti, age 13, is from here in Arizona and was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year. This little girl and her family are an amazing story of hope, courage, leadership, and faith.  The event was part of a national campaign effort with walks being held at the same time all over the country. We had a great turnout for the walk, thanks to the support of several local businesses and radio stations. Here is a little slideshow I put together from the event. For more info or to make a donation of your own, vist www.stjude.org. A special thanks to everyone who helped put this on.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Remember to give thanks in your own way this year!

Pics from the Global Warning/Rewritten Premiere

October 2, 2009

I personally wanted to thank everyone again for coming out and making last night’s event a huge success. Special thanks to Melanie and Century Marine for their hard work in organizing and making sure the event ran smoothly.  Thanks to Brandon Hesterman for taking some photos (www.krazywake.com), and thanks to David Cervenka for his behind the scenes effort in making sure we had exclusive copies of the film available for sale.

That said, we’ve still got a few copies of GLOBAL WARNING available on DVD and Blu-ray. Contact myself or stop into Century Marine to get your hands on one.

Lastly, I just want to say that you all are the reason we continue to hold events, make videos, and give out prizes. Nothing is more supportive of our industry than simply getting out and riding (and if last night didn’t get you pumped to go shred, I don’t know what will!) Be sure to use our local shops for all your wakeboarding gear, boat, and movie needs.

Hope to see you all on the lake. Cheers!
